Cougar and AMW: Wrong Parameters Since 14 Years (Windows Version)

Hey Re-Volters,

Just turned out that AMW’s and especially Cougar’s parameters are wrong (ie they differ from the dreamcast version).  Nero found this out by browsing through the Dreamcast version’s CARINFO.TXT. The Dreamcast parameters are to be considered as the correct ones as they are more recent.

What now? You can fix them by replacing the lines after the break of your AMW’s and Cougar’s Parameters.txt (from ‘Handling Related Stuff’ onwards) or downloading both fixed Parameters.txt i fixed for you.

  1. It really doesn’t matter if the Dreamcast parameters differ from the PC version. The PC parameters will always be the right ones for me if I play the PC version.
    Same goes for the Dreamcast parameters if I play the Dreamcast version.

    What if they had done the PSX parameters last and not the Dreamcast ones? Would they be considered the “right ones” then? I guess not.
    I know the PSX parameters are completely different due to the whole platform but in my opinion this argument can also be used for why the Dreamcast parameters differ from the PC version (even if the parameter syntax looks similar if not same) – it’s simply a different platform/version and therefore some things can/may differ.
